At ¡HOLA! Elementary, we believe that every child deserves a vibrant, rigorous, and joyful education that speaks to both the mind and the heart. Our Arts-infused Dual Language Program is designed to nurture creativity, build bilingualism and biliteracy, and develop strong character so that students grow into confident, compassionate leaders.

A Day in the Life of an ¡HOLA! Student

Morning Welcome & Community Building

Students begin their day greeted warmly by teachers in English and Spanish, building a sense of belonging from the first moment. Students then share ideas, practice life skills, and engage in proactive habits that cultivate kindness, leadership, and responsibility.

Standards-Based, Dual Language Instruction

Throughout the day, students learn core academic content in both Spanish and English, within our intentional 50/50 model. Instruction is aligned to the Florida B.E.S.T. Standards and paced to ensure coherence, rigor, and cross-linguistic transfer.
Science of Reading
From the moment they enter the classroom, students engage in structured, evidence-based instruction that builds strong reading foundations in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. These practices are designed to strengthen their brain’s pathways for reading success.
Arts-Infused Learning
At ¡HOLA!, the arts are not an “extra special” they are a core part of how students learn. Students participate in the ARTs: Music, Theater, Dance, Visual Art and Digital Art, where they experiment, perform, and create works that showcase their talents and identities.
Inquiry-based Units of Study in Action

Integrated Social Studies and Science learning is driven by standards-based hands-on investigations, “Wonder Boxes,” experiments, and real-world problem-solving. Students discover life, earth, and physical science concepts through observation, questioning, and inquiry.

Mathematics Through Reasoned-Based Thinking

Math instruction emphasizes conceptual understanding, reasoning, and productive struggle. Students use manipulatives, models, partner talk, and real-world scenarios to make sense of math.

Math Club provides students with engaging, high-impact math enrichment using Acaletics, a proven resource that boosts mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills. Math Club is a daily component of our math acceleration program that exposes and reinforces standards-aligned math concepts. A monthly assessment determines if students are eligible for the Green Party celebration.

Lunch, Recess & Wellness

Throughout the day, students enjoy lunch, play, and movement breaks that support their physical and social development. Play is purposeful—students collaborate, negotiate, lead, and problem-solve in natural ways.

Students reflect on their progress, set goals, share creative projects, and celebrate effort and growth throughout each day.
